Casey,

Just curious if the 5" TBE would help my high EGTs? I have the downpipe and delete kit installed along with the full EGR delete but my EGT's skyrocket past 1600 each time I nail the throttle.

I installed the EGT probe in the exhaust manifold collector. Also, installed the two sensors back into the exhaust. If these were not supposed to go in there, then what do I do with them. Is this why my EGT's are sky rocketing?

Thanks for the help.

Those EGT numbers are normal for a 6.7 with an aggressive tune on it. Factory (no programmer, stock exhaust) we have seen 1600-1700 degrees as well. 5" exhaust will not cool this down any. The excessive heat is mostly due to the small turbo on this truck. Anything over about 400hp and the turbo is getting worked really hard to produce the necessary air to make the power.

You can leave the EGT sensors in the pipe, but it is not necessary. Most guys leave them in the DPF system, and remove it all from the truck.

Will twins help? If so do I keep the stock turbo or replace both of them? The truck is my daily driver along with towing my 5th wheel. I will say when I set it on mild, never saw above 1200 degrees towing. and 2.5 mpg improvement:)

Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it.

I would not be afraid of 12-1500 degrees. Twins will definitely relieve some of the temperature, but unless you really need the extra power I don't think they would be worth it.

There are some relatively well priced kits out there that stack on top of the stock charger. That may be the route you want to go if you are looking for lower EGT's. You will be needing a transmission shortly after though!
