Well I got my Fass system installed along with the sump

I really like the install of it and can belive how quiet it is, I really can only hear it when I first turn the key over before starting it up and now it doesn't fall on its face any more

now on the other hand installing the sump was a differnt task for me drilling a hole in a perfectly fine fuel tank lol
But after measuring the center of the round spot below the factory pump and drilling the hole and draining the tank it was time to drill the 2 3/4 hole ,

If you don't mark the exact center you will not beable to mount the two C parts in the tank with the guides but luckely I got the center

And another thing when marking your holes with the sump I used a floor jack and a two by four to hold it from moving around , if it moves a tiny bit it will not work

I will post pics tomorow when it gets day light

Also I ran out of fuel hose so I had to use heater hose for a temp fix till tomorrow and I'm also going to put in a valve before the pump Incase I ever need to drain the tank for some crazy reason

Install time was about 2 1/2 hours and that's 30 min draining 4 gallons threw a 1/4 hole

Sump installed

When drilling with the hole saw the stock sending unit is olive where you see drilling , what I did was is drilled a little bit then I removed the 1/4 drill bit and drilled the rest with just the hole saw very slow also the outer layer is 3/16 black and the next layer is 3/16 white , I'm just saying this because if anyone decides to do a sump they can use this as a referance on how much further to drill

Then I drilled and notched the tank protective shield / skid plate

I really like the FASS set up alot it is so quiet I can't hear it at all the only thing I don't like about both set ups is the return set up

This is how mine is

And also if you use a sump I think the kits should come with a end cap on the stock fuel supply,
Instead I had to do this as a temporary fix just to keep dust and all from going in

I used the kits connector and shoved a 1/2 ratchet extension in the end of it untill I get a 1/2 barbed cap to put on it

I just think it should be in the kit even if you don't do a sump , but that's just me I guess

Awesome thread. Very useful. My concern with a lift pump is the filters hanging down. How far do the filters stick out under yours? Would love to see a side view if possible. Also did the Fass system help with the "fall on its face" issue in hot/performace level? Just want to make sure to do as much research as possible before putting it on mine. What made your decision to go with the sump? Thanks!
